![]() ![]() A whole game with that level of diversity everywhere would be a much better package for me. The series has potential if they can create more diverse proc gen, better boss fights, and have more interesting and diverse enemy sets. I would like to add that I think I agree with OP’s arbitrary numerical rating. Might as well call them Dedarkiroeldenborne games if you like just adding every title that uses a similar mechanic and system set to the rest of From’s popular games since 09. Soulsborne is reserved for FromSoft titles, but I think it’s dumb to include the borne. For example, the game Death’s Door would be a Soulslike if you lost those bubblegum pieces you collect when you died, but you don’t, so it’s more of a Link to the Past-like with some Demon’s Souls (the hub, the portals to checkpoints, getting a bosses soul etc) in it. The biggest dealbreaker in calling it a Soulslike is that nothing is lost on death. Remnant has a Souls influence, but it also reminded me of DOOM and Resident Evil 4. To me the the term Soulslike is used for a game like the Surge most accurately.
